My journey into the world of coffee started with a jolt—literally. As a college freshman, I was up all night studying for a big exam and made my first rookie mistake: I drank an entire pot of coffee. My first experience with caffeine was a crash course in its power, leaving me with heart palpitations, shaking hands, and a valuable lesson about the fine line between helpful and harmful.
This memorable moment sparked my curiosity. I began exploring different coffees, discovering a world of diverse flavors and unique characteristics from various regions. As I traveled and eventually entered the construction industry, coffee became more than just a morning ritual; it was a necessity, especially during early morning or overnight shifts.
However, I quickly noticed something was missing. The readily available coffee options were either low-quality and cheap or great-tasting but far too expensive. I realized that my industry—filled with hardworking people—deserved something better. We needed high-quality, great-tasting coffee that was also affordable.
This realization became the foundation for a new business idea. I decided to start my own roasting company, creating the kind of coffee I knew people like me would appreciate. But what to call it? The answer came to me while I was in my backyard, building a platform, with my work boots covered in dirt. At that moment, it hit me: Dirty Boots Coffee.
The name perfectly captured the essence of my company and the people I serve. It's a tribute to the hard work and long hours of those in the trades. It started with an idea and a passion for good coffee, and now, Dirty Boots is a brand dedicated to providing the best flavors at a fair price.
